If you don't know which version to use, run BrowserTune2000. Need more info on what BT2K is, how it works, how safe it is? Read the BT2K FAQ here. Nothing in any version of BrowserTune is harmful and none will alter your system or browser in any way. If you start one version and later change your mind--no problem. You can bail out at any time. Just return here, select another BrowserTune, and start over: There's nothing to undo, reset or restore. BrowserTune98: A less automated test than BT2K, BT98 does not require Cookies or JavaScript and yet still thoroughly and safely lets you test close to 300 separate browser features and functions from the bedrock basics up to Dynamic HTML, Cascading Style Sheets, multimedia, streaming audio and video, Java, ActiveX/OCX, scripting, push "channels," applications- and desktop-integration, virus protection, data binding, security and more. (Whew!) BT98 also includes all the tests in BT97 (below) but they’ve all been recoded and refreshed for better performance with today’s newest browsers. The structure of BT98 is radically improved, too, with far greater ease-of-use and freedom from interference from ad banners and other necessary components of a commercial web site.Because BT98 does not require Cookies or JavaScript, it's a good choice if your browser does not support these technologies, or if you have disabled them.
BrowserTune97 is a collection of over 200 tests that will reveal a huge amount of detail of what any browser can and cannot do. It's organized better than the original version (below), but it takes a bit longer to run because it tests far more things. BT97 is optimal for testing IE3 and Navigator3, and thoroughly tests all the basic functions of state-of-the-art browsers such as IE4 and Nav/Communicator4; however, the code is old and is no longer being maintained
BrowserTune Classic---the original BrowserTune--- tests well over 100 functions and features of your browser, and has been used by a huge number of people just like yourself. If you have a simpler, older browser, or are looking for a very fast way to check basic browser functions, it's a good choice because It's relatively compact and fast to run, but is no longer being maintained and doesn't test as much as its successor.
